Green tourism. The forest of the seven lakes

The forest of the Seven lakes is part of the national park of Tsimanampetsotse, which is in the area of Toliara II, at the south-west point of Madagascar. The forest is a true oasis of greenery in the middle of the thorny bush, the characteristic vegetation of the zone. One shall appreciate a walk in the forest, the observation of the fauna of which cultural lemurs, caves and other sites which make the richness of the zone. The pit of the spectacle is the cascade of lakes which,  unfortunately do not count any more to seven due to deforestation and environmental pollution. Some of these lakes were stopped by the ground which flowed from surrounding hills! Environmental organizations such as the WWF currently work to preserve the forest. The management of the site is held today with the assistance of the base communities. Tourist tours were developed there and of local guides trained.

To reach the forest, it is necessary to take the junction of Andranovory, nearly 60 kilometers of Toliara. Then ride a hundred kilometers on the road 10 to join the track of sand and limestone. A driving four-wheeled vehicle is advised.
