The SADC’s assessment team has been completing quite a discreet mission in Madagascar, haven’t they? They have been assessing by stealth security conditions for former president Marc Ravalomanana’s incoming comeback home. And they did their job quite unnoticed

Inconspicuous mission from the SADC’s envoys

Malagasy are officially still waiting for the SADC’s next mission to tackle the issue again. The next mission in question has actually long been on the spot, going about its business quite unnoticed, far from the spotlight. It was not to the armed forces’ top command’s liking, but, no matter what they mean about it, the job is done. The SADC’s mission definitely assumed that the armed forces as a whole were not unanimously support the same point of view, in other words, that not the whole army is bound to oppose the former president still in exile in South Africa. His comeback on home soil was suggested by the SADC’s heads of state, written in the Roadmap down, and signed by the main decision makers in the Malagasy political crisis in September 2011. It merely takes time to come true.
