Japanese strategy “5S»: improving the health environment in public hospitals

JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) supports financially and technically the development of Madagascar since 1960. Indeed, this Japanese NGO is actively involved in various sectors to achieve its main goal which is development. Through a strategy plan called “5S”, JICA intends to contribute to the development of Madagascar by improving the quality of service in the sector of public health.

The “5S” is a new approach applied by the Japanese tending to improve the work environment in the health sector. The goal is to make the workplace enjoyable, that is to say, a well-structured and neat workplace. Indeed, according to the explanations of Hanta Rakotomena, representative of the Ministry of Public Health, this approach is an element of motivation for the workers urging them to do their job properly. An exchange and information session on this new approach was organized yesterday at Antaninarenina.
