Lalao Ravalomanana's bodyguard Jean Marc Koumba, got interrogated by at the national state police station over three hours. Policemen made him clear that he was circumventing the law while serving the former first lady as bodyguard, and granted him some respite to make his situation fully legal. Lalao Ravalomanana's followers promised to do what it takes to this end.

Jean Marc Koumba compelled to deal with red tape

In between, Jean Marc Koumba remains bound, no more allowed to serve the former first lady as bodyguard, as long as his paper work does not comply with the legal requirements. Technically speaking, his employment contract will have to be delivered to the transitional public function ministry, to the transitional labour and social laws ministry, and to the borders monitoring police department. Jean Marc Koumba’s visa might expire in 2017, yet does not allow him to serve as bodyguard, according to the police forces’ explanations. His attorney replied however that Jean Marc Koumba was serving as a volunteer not entitled to any financial retribution
