Kofi Annan meets with members of the opposition parties.

While not initially part of his official calendar, Kofi Annan did finally meet with a dozen representatives of their various political parties on Thursday evening the 16th of March. The daily MIDI speaks of, ?Unexpected meeting between the opposition parties and the SG of the UN.? The Gazette headline reads.? Unexpected Meeting? Also from the Gazette,? From the oppositions point of view the meeting can only be considered a success. Anytime you get to meet with Kofi Annan, it?s an official recognition of your entity. It remains to be seen whether this ?regained status? will be formalized. What?s important is that the opposition be represented by a single voice and that the pointless diatribes, each for his own point of view, come to an end. Even the opposition has to get with the times, to democratize its own process. This then is the almost impossible mission

for Zafy Albert, Richard Andriamanjato, Alain Ramaroson and all the others.? Even the Nouvelles headline reads,?The opposition counts on Kofi Annan to speak for them.? Now, if only HE, would get with the program.
