Lezava Fleury, one of Toamasina’s politicians, has broken the silence

Lezava Fleury : Madagascar’s successive leaders got it all wrong

On Thursday, Mr. Lezava Fleury and his supporters produced declarations in Toamasina’s Miramar Hotel. On this occasion, he developed the following topics: “decentralization” and “development”.

Lezava Fleury : « No long term development pattern has been coming true since the latest 50 years of independence since the leaderships got it all wrong, mostly by concentrating itself in the center. Andry Rajoelina has once said that previous leaders have been failing from completing a thing since the independence, he was not that wrong in a sense, but the truth is that, all of this island’s leaders have been going the wrong way until now.  successive governments focused their power in the center, and the one currently ruling is doing the same. It is no help for the recovery of a long term solution. As an example, the erection of the Raiamandreny Mijoro stemmed exclusively  from the City, although it ought to have been approved by the provinces.”

So read Lezava Fleury’s stand concerning the settlement of this current crisis through the recovery of a long term solution to what he and his supporters are holding as the long term issue.

A Federal regime and a genuine power sharing pattern?

Many power sharing patterns have so far been implemented without any conclusive impact on the population. Its structure, and not its name, is paramount. No matter a federal regime or a power sharing regime, the erection of a government listening to its people is the most important thing. One of such a regime’s advantage is the people’s possibility to monitor the communes’ elected officials in order to require the completion of promises made during the propaganda for example. Such a regime is leading to a common contribution to the Malagasy nation’s development
