Malagasy students in France facing financial difficulty

Malagasy students pursuing their study in France are currently in difficulty. They are launching a distress call to the High Authority of transition. In fact, these students have not received until now their monthly grants from the local government since last February. Yet they have to support themselves and have to pay all the necessary and mandatory expenses that allow them to live in France. They tried to alert officials in charge of Malagasy students there as well as the Malagasy embassy, but in vain.

According to reliable sources, the problem causing the non-payment of their monthly grants comes from the mood swings (sic) of an administrative and financial director within one ministerial department of the current government. Thus, the following question needs to be answered: is the person involved in the non-payment of the students’ grants the Administrative and financial officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the Ministry of Finance or the Ministry of Higher Education? In any cases, the current situation of the Malagasy students living in France is tarnishing the image of the High Authority of Transition, namely its President.
