During the top level meeting of mobility chiefs and negotiations between their delegations, the legalistic camp expects to reach its goals: the restoration of constitutional order. However, it deplores the absence of the so called "political prisoners".

Maputo: the Ravalomanana mobility would have appreciated Manandafy’s presence

The Ravalomanana mobility is pleased with this last chance meeting in Maputo. “It is what we have always been looking for, not because it takes place abroad, but because of the face to face meeting of all mobility leaders”, that is to say Andry Rajoelina and the three elected presidents Marc Ravalomanana, Albert Zafy and Didier Ratsiraka.

The pacific struggle’s leaders are finally part of the travelling delegation driven by its chief Fetison Rakoto Andrianirina. He regretted that all mobilities’ delegations hadn’t been on the same plane to Maputo.

“Leaving and going back together would have been nice”, said the head of the Ravalomanana mobility for negotiations monitored by the International Contact Group. He outlined, however, that the others probably got another flight because “the aircraft isn’t large enough for everybody”, keeping thereupon silent about the special plane taken by Andry Rajoelina.

Deputy Yves Aimé Rakotoarison and Jean Louis Rakotoamboa, GS of the Teza party, are finally in for it. In the legalistic ranks, the presence of MFM’s Rapelanoro and Olivier Rakotovazaha can be noticed. According to the latter, “the presence of all mobilities in Maputo is already a hopeful sign”.

The Marc Ravalomanana mobility wished its “Prime minister” took part to negotiations in Maputo. Incarcerated since the end of April, Manandafy Rakotonirina, already appointed by the elected president in exile, didn’t regain freedom following his lawsuit. He’ll have to wait for the verdict in jail, until August 25th.

The man who got the mission to constitute a legal government, denied all charges against him, that is to say usurpation of powers. According to the defence, the regime is as illegal as the CNME, the “political police” which arrested Mananandafy Rakotonirina.

Fetison Andrianirina also regrets the absence of deputy Raharinaivo Andrianatoandro who used to be part of the Ravalomanana mobility’s delegation. He emphasized that the former TIM party’s president is being the object of baseless accusations.

The stake for the Ravalomanana mobility is double: first, to re-establish the elected president in office, whatever the power that will be assigned to him, then to insure that their leader Marc Ravalomanana can contest the next presidential election. Apart from its will to defend these “pre conditions”, the mobility told itself ready to make big concessions.
