Mobile Money: a new payment system for tourists

The signing of a partnership agreement, concerning the payment of visits to national parks via MVola, was performed yesterday in the headquarters of the Telma Group at Alarobia. Guy Suzon Ramangason, CEO of Madagascar National Parks, said the local and foreign tourists and tourism professionals will benefit from this new technology which represents a major innovation in the sector. The latter indicated that, “While moving towards profitability, national parks are currently in need of a security. The payment system through mobile phone should ensure that security”.

For Joel Randriamandranto, President of ONTM’s Management Board, the goal is that all tourism operators would accept the payment system via mobile phone. He added that tourism is a fragile sector in which security is one of the most important and most sensitive parameters. This partnership with MVola is already a big step, yet, there is still much to do. On the other hand, Patrick Pisal Hamida, CEO of Telma has claimed that this partnership means time saving, simplified procedures and security, so that tourists could safely enjoy their vacation breaks in the wild of Madagascar.
