[PAS DE PUB] Company Toliara Sands: implementation of a complaints management system

Willing to stick to its social involvement policy and compliance with international standards, including the Ecuador Principle and the performance standards of International Financial Company (SFI), Toliara Sands initiated the implementation of a complaints management system. As recommended by the SFI, the first step which was completed last week consisted in informing the community in advance and getting the population involved in the process by taking into account their customs and traditions, their opinions and proposals.

11 Fokontany (neighborhood) representing the 4 Communes affected by the project hosted the social team of the company Toliara Sands. At the same time, a meeting was organized in order to present the draft of the system to the Head of the Region and the Regional Coordinating Committee. Stressing the importance of the system in the life of the community, Tantely Andriamasinoro, social engagement consultant, stated that “the population’s concerns about the activity of the project are important and inevitable and the system will allow them to express themselves in a more peaceful and constructive way.”
