The temporary results of the Malagasy presidential election's first round held on October 25th 2013 increasingly confirm the expected second round duel between Marc Ravalomanana's unique champion and one of Andry Rajoelina's minions. Surveys used to favor Dr. Jean Louis Robinson with leading 20 percents of approval rate, and did not get it wrong. The last opened question was the name of his challenger at the likely second round. He will apparently be Hery Rajaonarimampianina, the genuine last hope to a ruling power flexing its financial muscle to the breakpoint in order to remain the ruling power.

Presidential election’s first round’s temporary results: 33, 3, 10, 6, 5.. the first round’s winning figures

Only 350 polling stations out of the island’s 20 001 ones have revealed results in the first twenty four hours following the end of the presidential election’s knock out round. Final results will be completely known in the next 57 days at this rate. There is no ground to worry, for reports do not flow yet, not to mention that the Electoral Commission does not reveal any result still subjected to three check ups, in order to avoid any further potentially dangerous controversy.

Still, the very first results are seemingly to propell the NY AVANA party’s candidate far ahead of his adversaries. With 27 percents of the votes, Jean Louis Robinson, entitled to the very precious support of Marc Ravalomanana, is the single candidate above the 20 percents. His closest follower, backed by the Rajoelina ruling power, is Hery Rajaonarimampianina with 15 percents.

The internal tournament among the ruling power’s minions is however far from over, for the others are still waylaying each other as much as their rival number one. Camille Vital with 9 percents remains in Hajo Andrianainarivelo’s range with his 8 percents. Besides, the transitional governments’ former prime minister, vice prime minister and finance minister happen to be a force to reckon with, offering a 33 percents high leading score to the ruling power, if they were eventually initing.

What is left of the Admiral’s supporters must have granted its confidence to his nephew, Roland Ratsiraka, as well as the slim opportunity to keep believing with 7 percents of the votes. Pierrot Rajaonarivelo however seems with less than 3 percents definitely out, just much as Radavidson Andriamparany is, who was sincerly expecting more than 2 percents, with or without Marc Ravalomanana’s support.

He, who used to enjoy full support from the TGV and from the UDR-C parties before Hery Rajaonarimanpianina’s entry, is suffering one of the most disappointing setbacks. Edgard Razafindravahy ran the race on his own behalf in the end but failed to convince the people, even in Antananarivo city. His 5 percents high score reflects how poor his former bosses’ choice used to be, as well as the very TGV party’s genuine national relevance.

Two challengers out of the left candidates are, for the time being, completing the breakthrough from scratch. The Green Party’s Saraha Georget Rabeharisoa, with 4 percents, comes slightly ahead of Joseph Martin Randriamampionona’s 3.5 percents. “Dadafara” must have scored points through his seducing intention to tackle a brand new start for the whole nation.

Julien Razafimanazato (2 percents), Sylvain Rabetsaroana (1.2 percents) and Ratrema William (1.7 percents) are fighting and falling with honor so far, that is to say the honor of making a better performance than the last ones, namely Jean Lahiniriko, Jean Eugene Voninahitsy or Monja Roindefo, who did not dispute their first ever presidential tournament ever though. As for the rest of them, no less than twenty candidates are not likely to reach the 1 percent threshold at all.

The 350 first results leave however a very large ground to expectations for leading candidates Jean Louis Robinson and Hery Rajaonarimanpianina as well as for their runners up. MTS party candidate Roland Ratsiraka and his mere 7 percents are nowhere near to start weeping by now for believing their strongholds, most of them located in the North of the island, to have not yet delivered their decisive blows. He even displays a certain confidence in his qualification. So does each and everyone of them though.
