As an outcome of its latest summit, the African Union took notice of the steps forward taken since the signature of the Roadmap back in September 2011 into the settlement of the process, and regretted the failure to capitalize all the terms of the signed Roadmap’s agreements, but did unfortunately not put any viable solution forth. The African Union merely regrets that some of the Roadmaps’ main points are still in expectation of an eluding completion. Part of these points is former president Marc Ravalomanana’s come back home. Another meeting will have to be organized in order to address these issues. The report produced by the African Union’s Peace and Security Council declared what follows: “more commitment to support from the African Union, in accordance with its duty within the context of Architecture for Peace and Security in Africa or APSA, is being considered as highly relevant by the SADC. The ICG-M and the CPS are intending to join into a meeting and address the suitable measures deemed to hasten the conclusion crisis settlement process in Madagascar.” In short, Madagascans will have to wait a little longer again.
