The Bahamas case: Steeve Turmel was once again heard by the judge

Four years later, the case of the massive recruitment for the Bahamas is once again re-examined carpet. Yesterday, Steve Turmel, the man who initiated the recruitment project for the Bahamas islands, which quickly faded away, was heard by the judge.

Nothing has been leaked from this oral hearing, but according to reliable sources, the hearing was mostly focused on the case of the large-scale fraud that has caused much ink in 2007. After yesterday’s hearing, Steve Turmel was allowed to go home. Actually, this man has never been kept in custody since the scandal related to this case broke up in 2007.

In July 2007, Steve Turmel briskly announced that he is seeking Malagasy applicants to work in the Bahamas. He asked all the applicants to pay a huge amount of money as a deposit. At that period, according to an official inside the Ministry of Public Service, the Mauritian nationals managed to garner almost 415 million MGA. However, a few months after the launching of the project, Steve Turmel, following strong pressure, admitted that it was only a bluff. He had to reimburse all the money he collected from all applicants. He said that he had manipulated and misled many people in Madagascar.
