“The Big Fair” event: finally in Antananarivo!

The commercial event “The Big Fair of Tana” (La Grande Foire de Tana) has finally landed in Antananarivo after touring in different regions of Madagascar, namely Manakara, Tamatave and Majunga. The event opened up its gate yesterday in the National Palace of Sports and Culture Mahamasina, and will not end until August 15. According to the event’s organizer, the Fimafm Association, it took them 8 years before finally reaching the capital, because the Big Fair was initially a provinces-based event. It is then up to Antananarivo to receive the 170th edition of this commercial event.

Like all of the commercial fairs so far organized in the capital, the Big Fair of Tana suggests a discount of 15% for some products and articles sold during the event, including school stationery, cosmetic products and clothes. The Big Fair of Tana is composed of 250 stalls 80% of which come from the provinces of Madagascar. Besides, in order to appeal to the visitors, The Big Fair’s organizer also prepared different shows, including kid’s game contest, cartoons projection, and music show. In fact, as being the very first fair organized by the Fimafm Association in the capital, The Big Fair of Tana is a real big challenge for the latter who expects during this edition more than 50.000 visitors.
