The CENI`s severity against the KMF CNOE is sharply contrasting with its laxity towards the HAT members led referendum related campaign. The authority`s leader is equally in for it, his speeches are pledging the promised land to the Malagasy, whom are asked to contribute on November 17th by voting…YES.

The HAT campaigning: do vote YES

In an American style one man show casted on November 06th in the Palace of Sports and Culture in Mahamasina, Andry Rajoelina presented his constitutional project as a compulsory step towards the golden 4th Republic filled with development plans supported by legions of foreign friends. The hell with international legitimacy, the TGV country is running, no strings attached, way backs excluded. The young one boasted “Madagascar might never be recognized, but will certainly never wither from the world map”.

The Rajoelina constitution is being presented by its author as an offensive against the county`s former presidents. The HAT leader recalled that no land will be possibly sold to foreigners and that decentralization will effectively take place. So is the TGV party`s motto turned into a national one: “love instead of freedom” since freedom would have been earned in 1960 together with independence. The Malagasy people would allegedly be lovingly defending its freedom by challenging an international community longing for a democratic transitional process.

According to Rajoelina, his constitution is clearly separating state and religious issues, as a matter of an attack against Marc Ravalomanana, vice president of the FJKM, as well as against Pastor Mailhol in a reduced extent, the self proclaimed prophet who predicted president Ravalomanana`s fall and his own rise to power in 2013. Concerning the alteration of the president`s required minimal age, Rajoelina argued that age is not a pledge for either wisdom or maturity.

The authoritarian leader`s led campaign is officially urging voters to vote. “Some people are inciting people to refrain from completing their duty, it is no patriotism” denounced the national champion of patriots. Rajoelina subsequently emphasized that the authorities would do whatever needed so that the referendum takes place. “We won`t accept that a minority of people successfully hinder the country`s future”.

Rajoelina is firmly intending to invest the whole of his political weight in the referendum related campaign. Fruitful development projects to be financed by foreign partners giving a damn about democracy have to be presented. Voting for the Rajoelina Constitution is the compulsory step. The message “do vote YES” is clear although Rajoelina and his herd are carefully refraining from stating it directly in order to refrain from conflicting with the electoral code.

Hery Rakotomanana, president of the HAT`s electoral commission, has to wait for a flagrant violation of the electoral code, in other words, someone like a minister has to openly say “do vote YES” in order to cause any reaction. Nobody needs to say such a thing though, since everyone knows that the single running campaign is pledging the YES vote. Ruling governmental officials out of from the campaign would have been a more logical and independent measure. The electoral commission has proved his lack of credibility
