The decision still has a couple of opposed interpretations. Following the meeting between the Malagasy political groupings with the SADC in Gaborone, the confusion is reigning more than ever. Andry Rajoelina is claiming his gain of support from the international community. Marc Ravalomanana is announcing his incoming return to home soil and his conditioned acceptance of the roadmap. For lack of an agreement, both sides are seemingly expecting the SADC to decide.

the SADC´s verdict: unavoidable idea clash between Rajoelina and Ravalomanana

Andry Rajoelina, back from Gaborone, has just as per usual personally stated his version of reality. “I am going to tell the Malagasy what happened indeed, he has declared. There was no negotiation, there was no newly proposed roadmap “. The dictating authority´s chief is straining to drum that the three spheres lost. The HAT didn’t win either though, for there has been absolutely no signature of any roadmap

Andry Rajoelina produced his report concerning the meeting in Gaborone.  “The SADC invited the political life´s actors whether they signed or not. The roadmap has been ratified and everyone has to comply with it from then on. The SADC asked the three spheres to integrate the transition, announced its decision to the Malagasy political actors, and collected their reactions to this decision”.

According to the HAT´s chief, “the SADC noticed the Malagasy people´s expectations, the country´s reality and the present leaders´ aims in order (…) to do away with the crisis “. Andry Rajoelina argued that the SADC could hardly ever ignore what has already been decided and expects the roadmap´s implementation to be confirmed on June 11th, 2011. He reluctantly conceded that the SADC equally addressed the return of both former presidents Ratsiraka and Ravalomanana on home soil.

“Admiral Ratsiraka´s return in the country is no problem, we expect him to endorse a Raiamandreny´s role” declared Andry Rajoelina. It logically hints that the other exiled former president´s return is actually a problem. The HAT emphatically denied Marc Ravalomanana´s return possibility as a consequence of the SADC´s decision.

Marc Ravalomanana accepted the SADC´s roadmap with conditions. The renewed appointment of the TGV devoted prime minister as a so named national unity government chief is a major of doubts concerning Andry Rajoelina´s “royal power”. The exiled president is rating the situation as bogged down.

“The SADC decided that he (Rajoelina) is to be the president, so be it although we previously challenged it. But prior to this, the decision agreed in Windhoek will have to be implemented, president Ratsiraka and I will be allowed to recover home soil and engage in politics like everybody else” conceded Marc Ravalomanana.

The former president and his sphere are adding up to their conditions, namely the right to choose the Prime minister, the reshuffle of the government, and the restructuration of the transitional institutions and not their extension. According to Marc Ravalomanana, the convention and the transitional superior council erected by the Rajoelina sphere and its allies are illegal, and so are the decisions taken by these institutions. The SADC has better put a stand free from controversies on June 11th, in order to keep things under control
