The strike affecting Toamasina’s harbor is on its way to paralyze the economy

Nothing has been coming in and out of from Toamasina for a little while. The harbor represents Madagascar’s largest doorway onto the outside world

The uprising was basically caused by the fact of sending some of the harbor’s agents behind bars, agents being indicted for having allowed containers overloaded with Rhodes Oil Plants out. “Their job is to displace containers, not to check their contents up, custom services are in charge of that”, argued their infuriated colleagues.

Transportation firms are equally pissed off for currently being brought to a standstill in the harbor. Negotiations are on their way, whether Up or down, is still to be known?
