A parliament member, although previously trialed and jailed for penal and non political offence, supports one of his owns on the way to follow in his footsteps. The latest warrant directed against Alain Ramaroson caused the rise of a wave of solidarity from several dozens of transitional parliament members.

Voninahitsy Eugene supporting Alain Ramaroson

The ruling power finally pulled back and did not arrest Alain Ramaroson. This member of the Transitional Superior Council and president of the Upper Chamber’s Defense and Security Commission played quite an active role in the year 2009’s putsch which led Andry Rajoelina to the top.
Although being currently in La Reunion island, Voninahitsy Jean Eugene was keen on expressing his solidarity with Alain Ramaroson, whose home was surrounded by national state police officers. Voninahitsy actually knows how it feels to celebrate a string of new years behind bars. In this field, he definitely does belong to the local scrap heap.
