10 Outstanding Young Persons in the world: Fela Razafinjato in the final run

Fela Razafinjato participated in the contest organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) named “Ten Outstanding Young Persons”, in which she ends up as among the finalists. In regard to that, an online voting has been organized on the following web site, www.jci.cc/toypvote/home.php?n=10, so that the general public could participate and support her.
In fact, the contest consists of presenting the projects created and carried out by a group of young people that Fela Razafinjato is part of as a dynamic member investing a lot in the good cause of disabled people in Madagascar despite her own physical disability. Indeed, Fela is the coordinator of the socio-educational center “Felana Mijoro”. She fought so hard for the defense of fundamental rights of people with disabilities which resulted in the issuance of the Decree n° 97.044, stipulating the respect of the disabled people’s rights.
The full application of the decree is still pending, however, the living conditions of disabled people are improving progressively as reflected in their reinsertion within society, the creation of specialized training at the University of Antananarivo, and the access of deaf and dumb people to official exams. These are some of the results of Fela Razafinjato’s efforts in the struggle toward equal treatment of disabled people with normal people. Fela has then a great chance to win an award in the contest because her efforts really deserve to be recognized.
