A new group of reporters caught sight of the sunlight in the Malagasy capital city, namely the Union of Malagasy Journalists for Human Rights (local UJMDH). Its general assembly agreed on an official statute and elected Mrs. Matavimana Ravao Georgine, reporter for the Malagasy national TV channel (TVM) as first president of the UJMDH. She is equally Pilaza Joreh, the current general secretary at the transitional communication ministry. The UJMDH expects close cooperation with the other associations pushing for the respect and the defense of human rights in Madagascar. C'est une nouvelle association de journalistes dans la capitale malgache. L'Union des journalistes Malagasy pour les Droits humains (UJMDH) vient d'être officialisée. L'Assemblée générale a validé son statut et a élu comme présidente de l'UJMDH Matavimana Ravao Georgine de la Télévision nationale malgache (TVM). La présidente de l'association est également l'épouse de Pilaza Joreh, l'actuel Secrétaire général du ministère de la communication. L'UJMDH entend coopérer étroitement avec les autres associations qui militent pour la défense des droits de l'homme à Madagascar. The technical staff sent by the Confederation of Christian Churches in Madagascar (locally called FFKM) keeps on working its mediation process out for the sake of contributing to put an end to the Malagasy political crisis. The FFKM got into contact with the SADC’s office in Madagascar to this end. The regional organization is in for supporting the incoming FFKM led mediation. But now that Parson Lala Rasendrahasina and Marc Ravalomanana legally recovered their previous positions on top of the FJKM, this mediation process might be more complicated than basically expected.
