The parliament's facilities are close to become battlegrounds disputed by two opposing parliamentarian groups. The parliament's new internal rules are the formal bone of contention. The Dahalo resume marauding through the southern regions of Madagascar. In the immediate vicinity of Ihosy, the local population supported by state policemen clashed with rogue dahalo raiders. 40 people were brought down as a result, a majority of them used to swear allegiance to the foe. This dahalo gang was conducting a campaign of its own for a while, and had so far been capturing hundreds of zebus from several villages of the Ihorombe region, largely unopposed. Scores of Madagascar' southern villagers usually have to bear repeated onslaughts from hundreds of dahalo raiders, at a time. They are greedy for cattle first and foremost, but do not often waste the opportunity to take away what they want when they can. Raids of this kind have significantly lessened in number over the latest months. Its over now. Time for plunder seems to have come again. In the Amboasary district, people were spotted fleeing the dreaded Dahalo by thousands. Cattle theft as a whole has never been decisively dealt with over the Great Isle. The year 2009's putsch and its entailed economic downturn nearly brought the affected areas to the brink of an armed insurrection. Over the latest years, raiding parties are often composed with hundreds of men armed with AK-47 type assault rifles, massively overrunning villages. The dahalo scourge mostly befalls Madagascar' southern lands because of its large dedication to breeding cattle. Roaming flocks are besides lightly defended, therefore easy game for raiders. The resumption of such violence is likely to make matters more complicated than they already are to the new ruling power. The Republic's President Hery Rajaonarimampianina, who came in charge in January, and his Prime Minister Kolo Roger, who has freshly created his government, might have not expected to have to deal with such a problematic issue as so early. La violence des dahalo reprend dans la partie Sud de Madagascar. Un affrontement entre des voleurs de zébus, d’un côté, et la population aidée par des gendarmes, de l’autre côté, a fait une quarantaine de morts, dont la plupart sont des présumés dahalo, aux environs de la localité d’Ihosy. Les dahalo venaient de voler des centaines de zébus dans différents villages de la région Ihorombe. Dans de nombreuses localités du sud de Madagascar, des centaines de dahalo s’en prennent souvent aux villages pour voler notamment des zébus, mais parfois pour prendre tout ce qu’ils peuvent emporter dans le même temps. Les attaques de ce genre étaient moins fréquentes au cours des derniers mois, mais la situation empire de nouveau actuellement. Des milliers de personnes sont en fuite dans le district d’Amboasary pour fuir l’attaque des dahalo. Depuis toujours, le vol de zébus est un phénomène impossible à résorber totalement dans la Grande Ile. Mais le coup d’Etat de 2009 et la crise politique, ayant engendré une crise économique à travers le pays, avait aggravé la situation. Depuis quelques années, ce sont des bandes armées, souvent composées d’une centaine d’hommes munis de kalachnikov, qui s’en prennent aux villages. Le sud de Madagascar est particulièrement riche en cheptel bovin. Raison pour laquelle cette partie de l’île est celle qui est la plus touchée par le phénomène dahalo. D’autant que la population pratique essentiellement un élevage contemplatif. La reprise des attaques des bandes armées risque en tous cas de donner du fil à retordre aux nouveaux dirigeants du pays. Le président de la République, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, investi en fin janvier, et son Premier ministre, Kolo Roger, qui vient de former son gouvernement, ne s’attendaient point à être confrontés à ce problème épineux en si peu de temps passé à la direction du pays.
