Analakely, the heart of Antananarivo

Where the traditional “Zoma” market was held until 10 years ago, one may now find a parking lot and an exhibition area. When the Zoma was abolished, many thought that the spirit of this weekly event would be dead for ever. But, since then, Analakely has always attracted the crowds. Today, you especially on evenings and week ends, the young people from all over the city will meet here. Foreign tourists and malagasy cross each other here. The streets and parks around have been renovated, open invitation to festivities. Restaurants and shops have reopened and diversified along the avenue.
