Lalao Ravalomanana, the former first lady has, by the end of the week, tackled her campaign in the North of Madagascar, while, Andry Rajoelina, the self proclaimed transitional leader and her main opponent took the opposite direction, and opened a hospital in Toliara. Let the challenge begin. The SADC has however just been having its meeting in Maputo and emphasized as a consequence that it would pledge no recognition to any election involving any of the three candidates rejected by the international community. Everyone is playing a deaf ear to that so far.

Lalao Ravalomanana’s visit in the country’s North proved to be a large success. Support committees popped up all along the way to Antsiranana city. The former first lady chose besides on purpose to travel by car for the sake of getting in touch with the locals. As for the transitional leader, his intention to resist to international pressure was made clear in the run of the opening of a hospital in the country’s southern town of Toliara. Lalao Ravalomanana and Andry Rajoelina have one single thing in common: none of them has any doubt about their respective victories as a conclusion to the elections…. if there is ever any election ahead… for the genuine issue of the moment actually happens to be the likely postponment of the presidential challenge basically supposed to begin on July 24th.
