Not even Andry Rajoelina can afford to skirt around this obligation now that he surprisingly entered the presidential race basically expected to take place on July, 24th.

When issuing the official list of presidential race candidates deemed to challenge each other during July, 24th’s tournament, the Special Electoral Court reminded this absolute rule. The SEC recalled that “whoever candidate endowed with public functions though running for the position of President of the Fourth Republic is compelled to step down from the so named function at least sixty days before the presidential election’s start up”.
