Andry Rajoelina promulgating his fourth Republic

It was the D-Day for the self made fourth Republic´s young father, Andry Rajoelina. He is technically speaking no more the leader of dictating authority, since a controversial law recognized him as chief of state. This was one of the concessions agreed by the constitutional draft patched up by the Rajoelina sphere led national conference. The article 166 is making the elected mayor of Antananarivo, the current leader of the High Authority of Transition, a new head of state in transitional period up to the next presidential elections.
A desperately won referendum with 52% of participation rate did not prove enough to release a wave of international recognition. Andry Rajoelina´s crusade against nations unwilling to recognize him is still on-going, as reflected by his speech: “November 17th´s referendum was not only a victory for one choice, but a victory for a Malagasy people uneager to obey foreign voices”.
The propaganda directed against the international community is still based on the good old patriotic creeds: “the fire of patriotism is not off, but burns in Malagasy hearts. As voting during this referendum, they demonstrated community and solidarity”. The new constitution would have allegedly restored some “national pride, sense of patriotism and solidarity”. “the fourth Republic has a brilliant future, it is righteous and will develop Madagascar successfully”.
Andry Rajoelina is being crowned a second time in a row on November 11th. The first attempt was a shot in an oven, since it was rewarding a successful putsch. The second one is a reward granted by a referendum, a very much controversial referendum. Now Andry Rajoelina has announced his fourth Republic though having promised to keep away from the next presidential elections.
Will he stay true to his word? It has so far not been proving to be his greatest quality. He has changed the constitution, most likely in order to be allowed in into the presidential race, and did his best to rule his most threatening rivals out. “History is about to be written anew” and Andry has the pen. The TGV Republic emphatically included the word “love” in its creeds. It may start its prayers, so that it does not turn into a brief date.
