Antsiranana: A stroll along Joffre Place

Joffre Place has a panoramic view of the sea and the port. It’s a prized spot of vacationers and locals alike. Situated near the port, Joffre Place enables pedestrians the chance to enjoy the view of the sea as well as a part of Antsiranana Bay. It’s one of the ideal places for a beautiful souvenir photo and to enjoy the sunset from this northern point of the Great Red Island. Located a mere 15 minutes stroll from the center of town, a statue of Marshal Joffree reigns over the plaza. Joffre was in office in Madagascar toward the beginning of the 20th century in order to work with his mentor, General Gallieni.
