The northern part of the Great Isle has been producing cacao for several decades. The production is now being threatened by the lack of security which has been denting the country for a while so far. The police forces cannot cope to secure far too wide fields scattered in the forest so producers’ concerns are growing. Madagascar’s cacao quality is famed across Europe and the United States of America to which the cacao is being transformed. One part of the production is also industrially transformed here by Madagascan companies. Producers’ turnovers are actually going down due to the outbreak of robberies committed during the night.
