Case Mamy Rakotoarivelo: ludicrous confessions obtained by the DST

This case is being addressed by a couple of investigations, the first one led by the state police directed by general Richard Ravalomanana, and the second one led by the DST or Direction of Territorial Security based in Ambohitsorohitra. Investigators basically had no clues but rather suspicions. He/it was quasi-foreseeable that the accusations will fall on leaders of the opposition. This time around, the victim is the chief of the Ravalomanana delegation and the TIM party´s SG, Mamy Rakotoarivelo. 

The DST certainly believed that an unprecedented show in the world would add up to credibility. A suspect named Misa produced a live confession. He calmly told his story confirming the version detailed by the DST. Misa, programmer by trade with some skills in electronics, would have recognized Mamy Rakotoarivelo during the first meeting. 

According to his story, Mamy Rakotoarivelo would have gathered them in his SUV near the Magro square in order to recruit them, and plan an attempt against the president of the HAT. The presumed recruiter would have specified that Rajoelina Andry had to disappear for being the stumbling block in the country´s situation. Further contacts would have followed suit, until the explosion of the ridiculously harmless explosive device which produced less noise than a bursting tyre, and less damages than scratches on a car. 

So read the DST´s version. However, the famous Misa´s wife emphasized that she met her man in police custody. Outside the court, she burst in tears while complaining about the plot having engulfed her man. She argued before press cameras that her husband had been tortured and forced to sign confessions accusing Mamy Rakotoarivelo. The wife in distress even gave shocking details: “they undressed him, punched him repeatedly and electrocuted his anus and his pintel “. 

The suspect´s mother emphatically repeated that the suspect was with his family when supposed to be preparing the attempt with the accomplices. The alibi is being confirmed by a couple of sad events in the family: Misa´s stepsister´s stillborn baby, and one of his stepparent. The programmer accused of having manufactured the explosive device´s detonator has not left his family from February 28th to March 2nd. His mother would swear it to God. 

The opponent´s lawyer, Me Hanitra Razafimanantsoa is temporizing the situation. “We are not yet to be addressing the circumstances of these confessions, we are for the time being looking for the truth, and will bring evidences of the defendant´s innocence”, declared Mamy Rakotoarivelo´s lawyer. The chief of the Ravalomanana delegation had his custody extended to 15 days. The DST would have other concerns. The first testimony was a wee bit too much.
