Far from the spotlights, this year's first ever cyclone has in no way gone easy on the Great Isle's western and central southern parts.

Cyclone Fami making significant damages

A section of Morondava city is flooded again. Cyclone Fami has caused important damages in Madagascar’s western part. The meteor dashed through the territory from February 2nd by noon up to the following day, before joining the Indian Ocean. States of emergency in face of the threat are no more maintained according to the meteorology department, although weather remains more unpredictable than ever on a large part of Madagascar.

In Morondava, dozens of districts are currently flooded. The basically available help is, for the moment, literally basic. Some victims are being piled up in public schools. No damage evaluation is yet presently available.

Eye witnesses are reporting collapsed houses and ruined cabins all around Morondava. A call to solidarity has been launched by the region’s natives.
