Didier Ratsiraka in a hurry to settle the crisis in Paris

Former president Didier Ratsiraka increasingly address statements on a private TV channel since he is, not yet, allowed to do so on national TVM. “This crisis has been too long enough, here is a proposal: what about meeting in Paris in presence of the mediators?”, he suggested to the other political mobility leaders. The admiral proposed the meeting to be held inside facilities belonging to international organizations as the OIF, or the UNESCO.  

Didier Ratsiraka’s favorite place would be Madagascar’s embassy in Paris, actually a slice of Malagasy territory on foreign soil. “I am for patriotism and for nationalism” he declared. “The four of us – mobility leaders – are going to meet, and make so that talks are ended before Monday “, added the admiral. He “lowly begged” the other political leaders to put an end to the crisis as quickly as possible, in face of the pending threats for the country, namely the risk to be ruled out of from the AGOA agreement on December 04th, 2009.   

Mediators from the ICG already proposed videoconferencing as a solution in order to do away with the logistical issues and additional expenditures of a meeting abroad. “It is not going to settle the problem”, argued Didier Ratsiraka, “we can already call each other by phone”. He is, actually, craving for a face to face meeting, with one or two additional figures per leader instead of strong squadrons of followers. “Cannot we pay for this trip and support our own selves?”, he wondered. The admiral insured that expenditures are not going to reach the billions. “The Madagascan State can contribute if necessary”, he insured.  

Didier Ratsiraka also defended his mobility’s gains and recalled what has been agreed in Addis Ababa. The Ratsiraka mobility is entitled to the Finance Ministry, the Zafy mobility, to the Ministry for Home Affairs. The Ravalomanana and Rajoelina mobilities have to contest the Justice and Foreign Affairs ministries. The Rajoelina mobility has already been granted the privilege to have its appointed military officials, including the National Defense Minister, kept in charge.   

“On my part, I have no problem any more”, claimed Didier Ratsiraka. “The three other mobilities are disputing the ministries for national education, Decentralization, and energy and the mines”, he argued. The admiral also attested his allegedly huge concessions, as accepting what the others rebuked, but claiming the Finance ministry acquired in Addis Ababa. “We have no institution’s presidency, the Prime minister stemming from our mobility is consensual, and I ruled my own self out of from the Transition’s management”, recalled the admiral in order to kill the gossips about his greed for the first roles.
