Diverging opinion within the HAT government

The political situation is far from being settled. Madagascar has been sanctioned. Financial backers have frozen help, and some agreements, as the AGOA, have been suspended. And it might just be the beginning, could any consensus fail to emerge between the political mobilities. 

The fear of sanctions is one of those too seldom things commonly shared by political actors, including some members of the government. Ny Hasina Andriamanjato, Vice Prime minister in charge of the Foreign Affairs, and, Tehindrazanarivelo, Vice Prime minister in charge of the healthcare department, would appear among those bound to try the consensus between the political mobilities in order to avoid the international sanctions. But it is not to the liking of the radical wing supportive of the president of the Transition, Andry Rajoelina.  

Columnists from Rajoelina’s Viva Radio did not wait that long before vociferating the need of a governmental restructuring in order to cast ministers failing to blindly obey Andry Rajoelina away. He decided to put an end to “cohabitation”, and to the implementation of the Maputo process by the same way, but some government’s members are not convinced that it is the best solution for the present crisis. 

Ny Hasina Andriamanjato would have often entrusted to collaborators that, avoiding international sanctions, if ever possible, would be paramount. As far as Rajoelina’s most radical disciples are concerned, the U-turn is off the point. The High Authority of Transition has, during the latest weeks, been engaging the psychological conditioning of the population in view of the incoming vote. Rajoelina’s proxies yet believe the end of the tunnel to be still very far away. They expect the legislative elections to be the mother of all solutions to the situation, but according the reactions from in and outside, they are the single ones to do so
