As Christmas celebrations are getting closer, regular as well as irregular market places are, as usual, swarming with young kids' toys: brown skinned black nosed teddy bears, small cars, parents are in no way close from running out of choice. The political and subsequently social crisis is, however, running them out of something vastly more important: spending power.

Expensive skinny feast

Even though second-hand items are invading the public markets, namely the toys, a large  share of incomes remains, first and foremost, dedicated to food expenses. Children might have to do with a bit less this time. On the other hand, they will anyway have the occasion to enjoy family excursions downtown all along December.

Indeed, the place of May 13th or the Independence Ave., are privileged locations for popular merriments at the time of the feasts (national days, Christmas, New Year’s eves). Merry-go-rounds, the horses, the small cars (karts) and various other distractions are swarming during celebration periods. The inhabitants of the capital city’s suburbs and low districts are reaching for them, in family or with friends, to enjoy and have fun. Traffic jams are monstruously unbearable by this period.

For lack of huge spending power, the whole family can at least enjoy together on the place of May 13th, be it merely by watching the tremendous spectacle offered by the massive crowd gathered in celebration at that time. Agoraphobic people, do stay away!!!
