The FREE FM radio station used to be considered as part of the political opposition to the ruling power. Having been shut down several months ago, the station begins to broadcast again by now. Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy, the radio station's leading decision maker, stated that her station would not divert from its original line. Its program number one "Anao ny fitenenanana" also resumed, though without Fidele Razara Pierre in charge, for he is currently making an electoral bid for a position in the next parliament.

FREE FM Radio broadcasting again

Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy was quick to dismiss the secret agreement eventually reached with the transitional leader, with the permission to resume broadcasting most likely as a concession, a pledge of good will, as rumored by several media groups. “As far as I am concerned, as a matter of loyalty to my oath as journalist, and whatever the rumors spread in this sense, offering support any of the upcoming election’s candidates is and remains off the point. The FREE FM station’s right to resume broadcasting was granted by the Court and not by any political scheme, as falsely argued by many media groups” she explained when specifying that the verdict affecting the radio station’s officials has been appealed against, and that the trial has been called off to February 2014. The story so far: Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy did cooperate with the transitional leader during two years before swapping side. Her FREE FM radio station began denouncing the HAT ruling power’s deviations by then. The transitional ruling power obviously dubbed Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy and Fidele Razara Pierre as traitors and surged forward against their station. Back to present time: “The station’s original line will remain as it is, although we will make an effort to put a new tone up, for the reproaches held against us mainly focused on this point ; we long for drawing lessons from and build on constructive criticisms” she added. Politically speaking, she stated her clear stand against Marc Ravalomanana’s eventual recovery of power, yet nothing against his eventual recovery of home soil. “I am for the genuine Fihavanana, for without sincere reconciliation, the country has no hope for recovery left” she concluded.
