Tension is skyrocketting within the HAT. The recently dismissed national defense secretary is resisting. The general Christmas Rakotonandrasana" defends the "gains" and turned into his office in Ampahibe. Somehow, he has lately flexed his muscle before cameras in order to hint that he might refuse to go

General Rakotonandrasana challenging the HAT Prime minister colonel Vital

General Noel Rakotonandrasana didn’t comply with colonel Vital’s order. The minister of the HAT national defense minister didn’t appreciate his eviction at all. “I haven’t been told that I would be dismissed “, he vociferated. The former chief of the year 2009 rebels is used to disobedience when orders from above don’t suit his expectations. “At present, I’m remaining where I am… an advice is going to decide a solution to the situation “, explained general Rakotonandrasana. “If I have to say no, I won’t go, but we are going to settle my issue in priority”, he warned.

The HAT defense minister is expecting support from loyal army divisions before standing tall on his position. “If everyone wants us to carry on, we’ll carry on; until then, there will be negotiations but no confrontations”, explained general Rakotonandrasana. He is definitely behaving as the country’s man in command would: “if I decide to remain, no one will kick me out”. The dismissed minister is, somehow, spiting a challenging message against the one who officially cast him aside, the HAT Prime minister Camille Vital. “Let him come to deserve his position”, he said before adding that he would be eager to transfer power anyway.

Now, colonel Vital would be guilty of a small scale Coup against the one that led the army against the elected president Marc Ravalomanana, in order to boost the rise of the High Authority of Transition’s self proclaimed leader, Andry Rajoelina. General Rakotonandrasana is actually daring the Prime Minister to capitalize what he said: let a due sanction be pronounced, had the putsch attempt been proved to be true. Scores of opponents have been jailed by the HAT on far less irrelevant charges. “He (colonel Vital) ought to make use of a mandate to arrest me”, challenged the dismissed minister.

Noel Rakotonandrasana conceded the fact of attending meetings aimed at drafting a next step to the crisis’ settlement. He insured that the armed forces have no intention to put their grip on power. “A military board of directors is not a suitable solution to the current situation “, rated the former minister still in charge. He denied any alleged complicity with Monja Roindefo, the former HAT Prime Minister.

“I have no personal grievances related to my dismissal; but if I am evicted today, whose turn shall it be tomorrow?”. According to Noel Rakotonandrasana, the HAT dismissed him because he dared telling loud about the hampering issues. “Now, someone telling the truth is automatically kicked out, isn’t he?”. He apparently stated his concerns about the transitional management. General Rakotonandrasana regreted the poor advices given to the HAT leader. According to him, Andry Rajoelina would well let the people down.
