Knowledge sharing: The United Nations System launches Hayzara

All the data related to the development of Madagascar can now be accessible to anyone through a new website launched by the United Nations System (UNS). Hayzara, such is the name of the website, which literally means knowledge sharing. The establishment of this new web portal is simply a part of the United Nations System’s project to establish a knowledge management virtual center which was initiated by the UNS team in July 2010.

The website includes data banks of knowledge concerning various fields of activities, including education, health, food security, and a section destined for visualization, mapping, projects and programs monitoring, plus a section for exchange which opens the dialogue between the different development actors according to their field of activity.

“Hayzara is both a virtual center of information resources and a platform of communication and interaction between all partners of development. Its ambition is to facilitate, not only the sharing of knowledge, but also the coordination of programs and projects that are undertaken by the different stakeholders”, said Fatma Samoura, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Madagascar. Every actor involved in the development of the country is then asked to share their knowledge through this website.
