Lebanon: the mortal remains of Suzanne Ralimamonjy repatriated

It was both in a state of anger and relief that the family of Suzanne Ralimamonjy received the mortal remains of their loved one yesterday at Ivato Airport. Actually, the lifeless body of the girl of 22 years-old, died in Lebanon in December in unknown circumstances already arrived at the airport on Sunday, January 29. “But neither the Malagasy consulate in Lebanon nor the work placement agency in Antananarivo informed us about its arrival. It was the official of the Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation (Asecna) who informed us about the transport of my niece’s mortal remains in Mahajanga, in a family’s house. While his mother, his uncle and I have already alerted these people, » complained Mary Celine Rasoaseheno, Suzannne’s aunt yesterday at 4:00pm before recovering the coffin.

In response to this situation, Norotiana Jeannoda Randimbiarison, President of the union of professional graduates in social work, condemned the way the repatriation of Suzanne’s body was performed. She exclaimed indignantly that “The human right has been violated. The body of the girl was treated as a simple package, which must be disposed of as quickly as possible to silence all suspicion”. But the family does not intend to remain passive. « We will conduct an autopsy on the body of our daughter in order to determine the cause of her death before burying her in Vohibolo, District of Fandriana, » said Marie Celine Rasoaseheno.
