Madagascar takes part in the world celebration of the year of biodiversity

Like many countries all over the world, Madagascar celebrates the year of biodiversity. Actually, after the celebration of the biodiversity day on May 22, which gathered environment actors from different regions of Madagascar, other activities are planned throughout this year.

For example, last month, the celebration of the environment day in Ankarafantsika was, in large part, focused on the theme of biodiversity. After that, an exposition followed by a round table which was entitled “Destruction of Habitats” were being held in the French Cultural Center (Alliance Française) of Fianarantsoa. Both programs were organized by the World Wildlife Fund in Madagascar. Indeed, the destruction of natural habitats, like the illegal forest cut, constitutes the main threat leading to the extinction of natural species in Madagascar.

On July 30, the W.W.F will organize in Toliara a round table which will be focused on the conservation of tortoises and turtles. This round table will take place in the local French Cultural Center (Alliance Française). As for the day of July 31, the W.W.F along with the Vintsy Association plan to set up a huge carnival in the city of Toliara.
