Mantasoa, where leisure meets history

If people go to Mantasoa, it is sometimes also to visit the old dwelling of the famous Jean Laborde, a french industrialist having worked in Madagascar in the years 1830.  In Mantasoa, Laborde built a foundry to use the iron mines of the area.  The old dwelling of this industrialist who collaborated narrowly with the kingdom of Madagascar is located in the village of Mantasoa.  But today the lake constitutes the principal attraction.  Among the prestigious guests of Lake Montasoa, the American organization “Peace Corps” chose to install on its shores its principal training center.
