The Malagasy political crisis is turning into a dead end. A new meeting of mediators will be taking place in Antananarivo on October 6th, and will, this time around, involve UN security council country members's representatives.

Mediators’ meeting: Manandafy dreads the involvement of blue helmets.

“The quest for a solution will be done at the higher level”. It was Manandafy Rakotonirina’s drawn conclusion after a glimpse on the list of participants to next October 6th’s meeting of international mediators for the Malagasy crisis.

All of the United Nations Organization’s security council’s country members are allegedly dimmed to be represented during the emergency meeting concerning the Malagasy crisis after the failure of the second leg of the summit held in Maputo.

“Whoever says security council says blue helmets” declared Manandafy Rakotonirina on the Fahazavàna radio waves. “The African Union is no more isolated in its attempts to break the deadlock, the whole world will commit to it”, said the latest Prime minister appointed by Marc Ravalomanana.

The meeting of mediators, programmed on October 6th in the Malagasy capital city, has indeed a particular relevance. Beside the president of the African Commission, Jean Ping, and the president of the African union’s Council of peace and security, Ramtan Lamamra, diplomatic representatives of the United States and France as well as those of Madagascar’s other partner countries have announced their involvement into the meeting.

The four political mobility leaders (Marc Ravalomanana, Andry Rajoelina, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy) will not be physically present at this meeting; their representatives will, however, be consulted.

Manandafy Rakotonirina is, anyway, persuaded that a solution to the crisis is possible. In spite of difficulties, he has not yet ruled a legalistic victory out.
