New series of jail sentences against partisans of Marc Ravalomanana

Solohery Hillaire from the MFM party, supportive of former president Marc Ravalomanana, has been sent behind bars. This former state owned company Secren’s CEO has been captured by the end of the week. The car that it used has been searched by the police forces. They found…piles of religious leaflets produced by the Clerics’ movement. It proved enough to indict him, by nowadays’ standards. Charges were: breach of state security. 

The authorities did not restrict to jailing Solohery Hillaire. His wife has also been charged of “complicity”, and jailed, although she does not seem to be sharing her man’s political views.  

The retaliation process against the political supporters of the Maputo agreements is running. Only the supporters of Marc Ravalomanana have, so far, been especially targeted. But many other political leaders are on the HAT security forces’ list
