Parliamentarian Raharinaivo Andrinantoandro’s health is deteriorating

Held in custody since mid-September in the penitentiary of Antanimora, Raharinaivo Andrianantoandro, is seriously sick according to his relatives. He has allegedly already had to pay a visit to a practitioner outside the prison following a high blood pressure incident; although, his entry at the hospital has not yet been authorized by the penitentiary administration. 

Asthmatic and hypertensive since several years, Raharinaivo Andrinantoandro has a long time fragile health. His incarceration made matters worse. It is not the first time indeed that the subject has been stroke by a high blood pressure crisis. He had to undergo a cerebral vascular incident, a few years ago. 

Kept in custody following a demonstration held by partisans of the ousted president, Marc Ravalomanana, demonstration which ended up in clashes downtown Antananarivo, Raharinaivo is part of the political prisoners whose release is required by the “legalistic” 

 demands 

Since the ousting of Marc Ravalomanana back in mid-March, about forty his proxies have been jailed. After the signature of the Maputo agreements, not more than ten of them have been released. Many other cases related to the deposed president’s partisans are currently still being assessed in court.
