The reconciliation process between the Rajoelina and Ravalomanana mobilities failed from bearing progress in the crisis' settlement process through the search for common ground. The rivalry between both groups is reflecting the opposition between both roadmaps, namely the charter of Maputo, and the French proposition. For being boosted by Paris' support, the dictatorship's leader does no more want to hear about negotiations.

Rajoelina vs. Ravalomanana, vainly brought together,

The meetings between members of the Ravalomanana and the Rajoelina mobilities in Antananarivo fell through. The reconciliation project failed. Both sides addressed the home grown head to head mediation option. According to the Ravalomanana mobility driven by Raharinaivo Andrianantoandro, the process was meant to deal reconciliation in order to recover social peace and pave the way to the crisis’ settlement. The roadmap had to comply with the Maputo agreements. Drafts have been presented to various foreign diplomats.

Such a good dream has finally been blown away by France’s buyous proposition recently welcomed by the HAT as its next Holy Scritpures. According to Raharinaivo Andrianantoandro, Paris’ roadmap is contrary to the Maputo charter for overlooking or removing various major points concerning power sharing, namely the joint leadership as well as both transitional parliament’s chambers. “The deletion of the parliament is unacceptable because it is fully breaches legality” argued the Ravalomanana mobility. Besides, the ousted president’s party displays evidences of prudence in face of the potential erection of the national Reconciliation Committee.

Andry Rajoelina is longing for the implementation of the French proposition and for nothing else. “There is no need to lose time in negotiations, there is already a roadmap to drive the country out of from the crisis”, he said. The dictatorship’s leader confirmed that the Pretoria stage would be his ultimate attempt to find common and consensual ground with the ousted president Marc Ravalomanana. “We are no more going to debate anything, the french ambassador proposed something which I agreed, so we are only going to South Africa to sign it”.

This French proposition definitely supports the Rajoelina mobility’s resolutions stemming from its unilateral debate for widened consensus. “It pledges acceptation for the organization of an election, and recommends the erection of a national unity government “. The transitional period would not overtake December 31st, 2010. “I won’t move to South Africa as long as it is not clear, since I’ll be moving only to sign it” emphasized Andry Rajoelina. If the meeting is a success, so good! In case of failure, the HAT leader said to be bound to emerge from the crisis his way.

In spite of this future agreement protocol, the HAT keeps on dodging its responsibilities by preparing its legislative elections of a constituent assembly whatever it takes. “The vote will take place within 3 months or 3 months and a half all for most”, said Andry Rajoelina. He is yearning to enforce his elections’ acceptation in Madagascar as well as internationally. For this to do, the HAT is straining to make up inclusiveness and consensus to its election through a national unity government. Its projects’ likely failure does apparently not deter the HAT.
