Madonline.com was among the sponsors having contributed to the young Malagasy swimmer’s travel to contest the African Junior Championships (U 15) in Mauritius, from the 22nd to latest October 25th. The website got it right to put its bet on Patricia Andriamihaja. She has actually been awarded the bronze medal in the relay 4x100m freestyle race.

Swimming contest – African Junior Championship: madonline.com made up a medley!

The Madagascar’s balance after four days competition was relatively satisfying. The young Malagasy swimmers earned a couple of bronze medals, both by girls, both won in relay contests, the 4 x 100 m freestyle and the 4 x 100 m four swims. The Malagasy Swimming Federation’s President recognized the superiority of the south-African “aliens”. According to Tiana Raoelina Andriambololona, priority work aims at catching up on the Seychelles or Mauritius.

Patricia Andriamihaja, the athlete sponsored by Madonline.com is openly proud to have a bronze medal around the neck. “It was difficult but I defended the country’s colours, it is the most important “, she confided. In the individual contests, she reached the final of the 200 m freestyle. According to 14 years old Patricia, Malagasy swimmers are penalized on the physical plan. She is suggesting a food support and follow-up program for young sportsmen. There are not enough swimmers in Madagascar “, she underlined.

The involvement to a competition abroad is in itself a genuine showdown for young Malagasy sportsmen. The federations are able never to support all competitors in the concerned categories. The involvement into this African Junior Championships has been as jeopardized as that of other disciplines. Parents had to draw an umpteenth card up their sleeves to grant the ravel to all swimmers.

The Federation’s President has been grateful towards these passionate and determined parents as much as towards sponsors. “Such an important participation abroad is second to none”, confessed Tiana Raoelina. He especially congratulated the young swimmers’ performances. For sure they have not yet completed any clean sweep of medals, but overcame eight national record times, of which all categories national record.

Corporations, part of those was Moov as the Malagasy Swimming Federation’s partners, as well as some regional enterprises have contributed to the 16 young swimmers’ journey to Mauritius. For the Madonline.com website, the experience was the first one, and in no way the last.
