Several candidates have been rejected by the second Special Electoral Court due to irregularities unnoticed by the first and late Special Electoral Court : 2. One replacement completed out of eight opportunities
Hery Rajaonarimampianina is the single replacement candidate. Through him, the inconsistency of the very much politically motivated new electoral rules definitely comes to light.
The replacement system basically meant to allow the Rajoelina, Ratsiraka and Ravalomanana political spheres to appoint replacement candidates, for their respective champions were rejected and finally pushed out of from the presidential race by the International Community. Yet, the replacement candidate is supposed to stem from the sacked candidate’s political party or sphere. Hery Rajaonarimampianina does not. The deal was the result of intense “negotiations” according to Kolo Roger, one of those who introduced Rajaonarimampianina. Dazzling evidence of the fact that presidential candidate seats remain at range to whoever can afford them, isn’t it?
The transitional leader did not favor Edgard Razafindravahy, his TGV party’s champion. The Zafy political sphere does not run the race at all. In the end, these elections are deemed to develop without any of the four main political spheres basically supposed to play leading roles into the crisis settlement process
