The access to the Place of Democracy officially denied to the opposition

The political spheres led by the three former presidents, Albert Zafy, Didier Ratsiraka et Marc Ravalomanana, are longing for demonstrating on the Place of Democracy. The town hall’s response was…unexpected: the Place is exclusively dedicated to cultural events. The opposition consequently asked for Alarobia’s Stadium, for not being satisfied by Analamahitsy, the option proposed by the town hall.

Could any deal be reached with the town hall, the opposition would have to re-enact negotiations with the capital city’s police forces. The opposition recently flexed muscles by spontaneously demonstrating downtown before being expelled by the High Authority of Transition’s military forces. Negotiations are now being tackled in order to avoid those incidents.
