The Bay of Baly: the unique natural habitat for “Angonoka”

The National Park of the Bay of Baly is located in the North-West region of Madagascar. It is particularly know as being the successful mixture of 2 different types of biodiversity: the land ecosystem and the marine and coastal ecosystem. Actually, the Bay of Baly is the unique natural habitat for the endemic species of turtle known as “Angonoka”, a turtle species which never goes beyond the border line of Soalala. The Bay of Baly is located 150km away from Mahajanga between the Commune of Soalala and that of Ambohipaky. The Park is stretched over a total surface of 57 142ha and surrounded in its southern part by the Kapiloza and Andranomavo rivers which both casts in the Bay of Baly and the Mozambique Channel.
