Doing away with bush fires used to be one of every Malagasy government. And will be so for much much longer.
In 2009, 80,000 hectares of land located in the Analamanga region around the capital city have been engulfed in bush fires. Ranching is the main cause for such an issue since, the land has to be set alight in order to make room for new grass dedicated to cattle.
