The young chief of the Transition got a taste of his conception of the heavens. Nicolas Sarkozy unfolded the red carpet for him, apparently to satisfy Andry Rajoelinas and some collaborators who joined Paris with him. The show is however in no way likely to pledge any settlement for the great isle´s crisis.

The meeting between Rajoelina and Sarkozy won’t contribute solve the Malagasy crisis in anything

The on going process is seriously being hampered by a real unwillingness to join hands and promote reconciliation. As a proof, a simple tip about a potential private flight from South Africa unveiled the High Authority of transition´s intentions to resort to force, could Marc Ravalomanana ever try to come back to the country.
Andry Rajoelina and his supporters definitely turn the ousted president´s return to Madagascar down, no matter the roadmap´s articles they signed, namely the right for every politically exiled figure to recover home soil. The current situation is rather heading to a complete failure. In a letter addressed to president Sarkozy, the Malagasy civil society reiterated this risk: “The present process can possibly not spare Madagascar from a long term crisis in spite of the appearances and declarations separately produced by some of the ruling power´s groups as well as by some foreign entities. For conditions to success are not gathered, this process will not lead to transparent, free and believable elections, accepted by each and everyone. Merely political tensions are going up and potential social uprising risk is higher with every passing day”
