Vexed by the setback undergone by the president of the authority of transition at the time of the 64th general Assembly of the UN, some political formations allied of the HAT want to take revenge from the SADC. It can as well serve as a motive to thwart the International Contact Group's mediation attempt to ask Malagasy to comply with the agreements signed in Maputo.

The Rajoelina mobility’s hard wing dixit: hinder the ICG and the SADC from coming to Madagascar

Together with other parties considered as HAT proxies as the Farimbona, the Otrik’afo, the AKFM and Manaovasoa, the Monima party, currently on top of the government, has called the partisans of the de facto transitional regime to hinder the SADC members from landing in Madagascar. The scoop might look somehow shocking, but it clearly displays the reigning unease within the HAT ranks in face of the next round of negotiations with the other mobilities under the International Community’s monitoring.

The Monima party of the Rajoelina mobility’s Prime minister have always been attacking the SADC and on the International Contact Group in charge of mediation in the Malagasy crisis. The, from now on, labelled as the UN “scandal” is an additional motive to put an end to negotiations led by the mediation’s joint team. These parties close to the HAT are condemning the South-eastern African regional organization’s led violation of Madagascar’s sovereignty, as it hindered the country’s representative to address the UN.

An anti-SADC movement has not yet officially emerged, for the time being, whereas propaganda running down the regional organization, allegedly backing the elected president Marc Ravalomanana, has long been being fuelled. A call to demonstrate has been launched for next October 06th, when ICG members are dimmed to land on. A special welcome committee made of soldiers is to be feared, even though it is only meant to impress and deter. Some declarations of officers infuriated by the ICG should not be underestimated.

The soldiers, composing this transitional regime’s big stick, have already performed as such at the airport of Ivato. Manandafy Rakotonirina got entitled to a piece of their mind at his return from Maputo. The “heroes” of the political takeover of latest March 17th came to nab him, Kalashnikov machine guns in hand, daring the 73 years old politician to repeat to them, face to face, his declarations about the African army’s superiority compared to the Malagasy army.

The joint chief of staff doesn’t want to react to the UN scandal, “political matter” invoked. Colonel André Ndriarijaona reiterated the allegedly recovered political neutrality of the armed forces. The one who helped Andry Rajoelina to complete the “Coup” against president Ravalomanana, speaks in a more moderated tone. So does the HAT’s other wing, fully devoted to Rajoelina, and bound to sacrifice Monja Roindefo. An official entry denial addressed to the ICG members is quite unlikely, unless the almighty president of the high authority of transition decides otherwise.
