The list of runners up has sensibly been shrinking since its first publication. One personal problem, an exclusion, and one more introduction from the HAT cared for it. The SADC steps pressure up on Andry Rajoelina and his sphere doing what it takes to have one of their owns as Prime Minister. The Ravalomanana has on the other hand a couple of candidates.

The Ravalomanana sphere in for the race to get the transitional Prime minister´s position

There competition is relatively balanced. The roadmap´s precedently imprecise article was granting full choice to an Andry Rajoelina formally recognized as president of the transition. Neither the candidates´parade in Ambohitsorohitra, nor their casting on national television waves  controled by the HAT proved however enough to draw any clear favorite. The 3 spheres equally failed to come to an agreement in order to present a single list of 3 candidates.

The Ravalomanana sphere´s proposal leaves three different political option to the president of the HAT. Choosing Manandafy Rakotonirina, political opponent and former victim of the imposed authority, would be a positive sign in favor of political appeasement and reconciliation. In Ambohitsorohitra, the MFM party´s president was peacefully welcomed by Lt Colonel Lylson, the HAT´s special forces´ commander. The issue is first and foremost political according to Manandafy Rakotonirina. He and his party are pushing for the recovery of democraticnormality in the country . On this account, he is presenting himself as the one able to “keep Marc Ravalomanana under controle”, whose return remeins the HAT´s nightmare.

Eliane Naike is officially out of the race. Currently in exile in France as a result of the HAT´s persecution, she was not able to recover home country on personal account. Her action massively contributed to deny international recognition to the HAT. The Cooperation would have been difficult even though Andry Rajoelina wants a woman as Prime minister.

Botozaza Pierrot the Ravalomanana sphere´s less political and more technical option. “The priority is the settlement of the crisis, I would like to complete all of the Prime Minister´s duties in accordance with the roadmap. Each and everyone´s involvement is necessary, there will be otherwise neither dignity nor identity. We need consensus”. The Ravalomanana regime´s former minister revealed to be having a political and technical strategy concerning the exiled president´s return: “the solution is complying with the roadmap.A technical question deserves technical solution, and a political issue, a political settlement”.

The Ravalomanana sphere is definitely not the HAT´s favorite one. Any consensus would however require a prime minister stemming from the opposition. Marius Fransman, the SADC´s troika´s mission chief already warned that Andry Rajoelina could eventually be rejected and the whole process started anew.
